Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data Marina collects, why we collect it, and the choices you have. Marina is a cloud hosting service operated by Harpoon Labs.

Who we are

Marina is a product of Harpoon Labs, based in Accra, Ghana. When this policy says "we" or "us", it means Harpoon Labs as the operator of Marina. You can reach us at hello@harpoonsms.com for any privacy question or request.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run the service and bill you for it:

Account details. Your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in with Google or GitHub, we receive your basic profile and email from that provider.
Payment details. The Mobile Money number, payer name, and reference codes involved in a top-up, so we can match a payment to your wallet. We do not store card numbers or Mobile Money PINs.
Content you host. The files, sites, applications, and databases you upload or deploy through Marina.
Technical data. Basic logs such as your IP address, browser type, and the actions you take in the dashboard, used to keep the service secure and working.

How we use your information

To create and manage your account and your hosted resources.
To process Mobile Money top-ups and bill your wallet for the resources you run.
To keep the service secure, prevent abuse, and diagnose problems.
To respond to your messages and provide support.
To send essential service notices, such as billing or security alerts.

Mobile Money and payments

Top-ups are made by Mobile Money and verified through Harpoon, our SMS verification service. To confirm a payment, we process the reference code and the sending number associated with the transaction. We use this only to credit the correct wallet.

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run Marina, and only as far as needed:

Infrastructure providers that host our servers.
Harpoon, for verifying Mobile Money payments.
GitHub, when you connect a repository so we can build and deploy your application.
Authorities, where we are required to by law.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the service, such as keeping you signed in and remembering your display preferences. We do not use advertising cookies.

Data retention

We keep your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a resource, it is removed from our systems. If you close your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data once any legal and accounting obligations have been met.

Security

Each customer's resources are isolated from every other customer. Sensitive values such as environment variables are encrypted at rest, and all traffic to your sites is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data with appropriate technical and organisational measures.

Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct, or delete your personal data, or to export it. Contact hello@harpoonsms.com and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Marina is intended for businesses and adults. It is not directed at children under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service grows. If we make a significant change, we will let you know through the dashboard or by email. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
